P&D Staff

Meet the P&D Industrial Team

GLEN MANSFIELD

Owner

The Head Honcho

After a long career working in the mines and post spinal surgery, Glen knew that getting back on the tools wouldn’t be a smart decision. He and Brooke purchased P&D Industrial in 2009 and haven’t looked back.

If you’re an AFL fan, be sure to hit Glen up on his impressive former years playing for Collingwood.  “I grew up in Victoria and loved to play AFL. I was drafted to Collingwood but I chose to follow my mechanical career. Looking back, sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision.

After that I spent six years opal mining in Lightning Ridge in New South Wales. Then we moved up here to the Whitsundays with machinery hire on Hamilton Island. Fishing is the new passion - I just wish the wind would work in with my roster a little more!”

BROOKE MANSFIELD

Owner

The Boss Woman

A busy life which struggles with balance, is better than a life that struggles to be busy. Business owner and mum-on-the-go, Brooke Mansfield, struggles to find time to rest, but wouldn’t have life any other way. She is the co-owner of P&D Industrial with her husband Glen, as well as being a mum to three active children.

“Life is busy and I probably take on more than I should, however I enjoy setting goals and achieving them. As well as looking after the management and administration side of the business, we have a lovely, small property with a menagerie of animals. I support my children with equestrian and footy. I’m a committee member of a couple of not-for-profit organisations, including being the treasurer of the Proserpine Chamber of Commerce, and have recently set up an equestrian equipment business, Willimay Horse Designs, with a friend.

Brooke started her career as a veterinary nurse and has a love of critters big and small.  “I do miss working with animals, especially working with cattle, so when I get the chance to help out in a cattle yard I jump at the opportunity. I do love my ponies, we have three thoroughbreds and I enjoy travelling with them to competitions with my daughter,” Brooke said.

DUDE

Security

Security

Dude, of course, is P&D’s faithful mascot and up for a pat pretty much all of the time.  You will usually always meet him as he guards the front door with a wag of his tail as he greet customers.

GRAHAM PADGETT

aka "GOD"

aka "GOD"

Graham Padgett was the store's previous co-owner with Troy Dobbins.  After selling the store, Graham remains as an invaluable part of the team.

We often joke that Graham’s on the depreciation schedule!  His knowledge in this trade is invaluable and the service and advice he is able to give customers is gold.

HELLE HARRIS

Keeps the boys in line

Mechanic, Helle Harris, is also part of the P&D Industrial team. Her love of mechanical work came from helping her Dad. She rebuilt her first bike, a DT 125, and then was given the opportunity to do an apprenticeship at Saraji Mine.

Like Brooke, Helle also runs to a busy schedule. Life outside of work is busy; I’m the secretary for the Proserpine Hack and Pony Club, and try to squeeze in my own passions; my dogs, riding horses and photography, as well as looking after the maintenance on our five acre property. With support from my husband and family, we make our busy lives work.

MARK TAYLOR

The funny one

Part-timer, Mark Taylor is as sharp with his service as is he is with his sense of humour.

He keeps us and the customers laughing, his funny nature is a breath of fresh air and he’s catching on to everything in the business fast.

ANDREW DENING

Mr Fix it!

Andrew is the workshop mechanic and hydraulic hose repairman.  Working fulltime at P&D Industrial, Andrew is the newest recruit to the team.

ALISON MOULTON

A goodie

Alison keeps the place looking spick and span

LULU SIMPSON

Newest Recruit

Lulu is a local girl who joined our team as an Administration and Sales Trainee.  Having a Certificate III in Business, Lulu will be working in the office and on the sales floor and is already proving to be a valuable member of the P&D Team.
